Background and History of Executives Online South Africa
Executives Online was established in November 1992 in the United Kingdom and served initially as a vehicle through which our founder, Norrie Johnston, practised as an interim Sales and Marketing Director. In 1997 the company changed its name to EPL Consulting Ltd and began operating as an interim management provider. By mid 1997, Executives Online had accomplished its first placement at British Gas Transco. January 1998 saw EPL Consulting's first listing in the UK's Executive Grapevine Directory of Interim Management.
In 2000, the company set itself an ambitious growth strategy, changed its name and repositioned itself as a provider of online executive resourcing. The opportunity to harness the power of the internet to capture new candidate registrations and new client enquiries was, at that time, novel. Executives Online's focus was not, however, simply to build a database of contacts. Our focus has always been to build and develop a Global Talent Bank that offers great value to the our stakeholders.
The Global Talent Bank is unique in the recruitment industry, not only for the talent that it contains, but also for in the way that all Executives Online offices access this Global Talent Bank from all over the globe. This enables Executives Online's recruitment offices to deliver global recruitment solutions locally, as the candidates in our Global Talent Bank are a global resource and not specifically allocated to a geographic region. Our transparent system also allows each office to view our global client list. This allows each Executives Online office, no matter where they are located, to easily and quickly identify if a potential local client has worked with Executives Online elsewhere in the globe.
Our services have evolved from purely interim management to include other flexible resourcing solutions, including change management and project management.
2004
Executives Online entered the much larger market for permanent executive recruitment, achieving its first permanent placement in mid 2004.
2005
Executives Online began to develop its model for franchising and sold its first franchise, for Australia.
2006
Franchise sales in the North of England, France, South Africa and Scotland. Further UK franchise contracts signed for the Midlands, the East of England and South West of England / South Wales.
In March 2006, Executives Online won the "Innovative Online Marketing" award from OnRec in the UK. In addition, the company achieved "Audited" status from the UK Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC), the only interim management and executive-focused resourcing company to do so. The company is a registered practice of the Institute of Management Consultancy and in the UK is ranked the seventh largest interim management agency by Executive Grapevine.
2008
The signing of franchise contracts for Ireland with franchise agreements terms agreed for Belgium and The Netherlands.
The company has developed a Global Talent Bank that is growing daily and which currently exceeds 0 practicing interim managers and other senior executives. Our services have evolved from purely interim management to include other fast-track executive resourcing solutions, including change management, project management and fast executive recruitment.
In December 2008, the senior management team of Executives Online, led by Anne Beitel as Managing Director, acquired the majority shareholding of Executives Online from the founder, Norrie Johnston. In principal, this does not change the strategic direction of Executives Online, as the management of the organisation holds a shared vision. However, it does enable the company to further plan for the future with a strong management team focused on growth and development of its global network.
Today, Executives Online continues to experience exceptional growth throughout its global network of franchisees, in both turnover and margin, deploying a unique blend of technology and personal service to generate client enquiries, candidate approaches and to match them together in successful assignments. This unique executive recruitment franchise now boasts 17+ years of commercial success and has franchised its system since 2005.
2009
Executives Online franchises now operate in Paris, Dublin, Amsterdam, Brussels, Milan, Sydney, multiple UK locations and South African headquarters in Hyde Park, Johannesburg.
